sambioMy name is Samantha.  I’m a 31 year old wife to my wonderful high school sweetheart and a mother of 2 beautiful girls.

In February of 2014, I made a life changing choice.  I AM GOING TO GET FIT.  Now, I had no idea how to do this.  I’d been active throughout my life, but had let things slip the past few years.  I had a nearly 1 year old daughter and started to realize that I would need to keep up with her.  I didn’t want to be a blob on the couch.  I wanted to run and play with her and feel good about myself.

I joined a few support groups on facebook.  One in particular showed me that getting fit as a mom was possible.  It would take some serious dedication, but I was up to the challenge.

I searched and searched for something that wouldn’t take hours of my time.  I found a program that allowed me to get onto the fitness bandwagon by doing a simple 20 minute exercise each day.  Since then, I’ve had to change my workouts to challenge myself.  But it all started with a very small commitment of 20 minutes a day.

I’ll be sharing my story with you over a series of blog entries.  Eventually, I’ll share my day to day struggles with being fit, being a mom and being a real person without cameras, makeup crews and dietitians portioning my every meal.
